What you need to do
Step 1In order to compete with APS United, you must first join one of the member clubs. Contact any one of these people:
| Haileybury Athletics Club | Chris Macdonald | 0421 058822 | ||
| Old Melburnians Athletic Club | Ross Tennant | 0419 113645 | ||
| Old Scotch Collegians Athletic Club | Mark Purvis | 0407 526622 | ||
| Old Xaverians Athletic Club | Anthony De Castella | 0410 417920 | ||
| St Kevin's Amateur Athletic Club | Nick O'Neill | 0418 451745 |
If you are unsure as to which club you should join or you have problems getting in touch with your club representative, please contact Mark Purvis, who is the APSU team manager.
Step 2
Download the Athletics Victoria registration form. Fill it in and give it to your chosen club, who will submit it to AV. Within a day or two, you will be a fully fledged APSU member with a race number, allowing you to compete in all AV summer and winter events. It costs $140 for an open age annual subscription and less for under age athletes. You may also have to pay an additional club subscription fee.
Once you are registered, AV will send you an email receipt containing your user name and password to allow you to enter individual races or purchase a season ticket on line.
Step 3
Enter a race.
APS United competes in the winter series of AV races (XCR '11). You can buy a season ticket ($85) or enter races separately.
For individual races, you must enter on line with your user name and password at a cost of $25 per race ($20 for under 20/18) by the closing date specified on the AV website.
For relay events, you will receive a team manager's email calling for entries. It costs $12 to run in a relay, payable to the team manager on the day (excepting HAC and SKAC athletes, whose relay fees are met by their clubs).
Step 4
Buy an APSU singlet from Mark ($50) and a pair of plain navy blue shorts from any good sports store, and you are ready to race!
Step 5
Run, run, run....
Step 6
